Derek Sanderson Jeter (born June 26, 1974) is an American former professional baseball shortstop, businessman, and baseball executive. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round (6th overall) of the 1992 MLB June Amateur Draft.
